Data dashboard: The BMW Group is continuing to design the future and is constantly driving sustainability forwards with its innovations. The circular economy is the key to conserving resources and reducing carbon emissions. For BMW, circularity in particular means that at the end of their use phase, vehicles are used as a source of raw materials for new cars. BMW vehicles are already made from up to 30 per cent recycled and reused materials on average. BMW would like to continue increasing this amount. Fundamental research, detailed development and a clear focus on sustainability are employed to investigate each production process and find alternative raw materials. BMW is comitted to the Paris Climate Agreement.

Summary: At WZL, I worked as a software engineering and data science student assistant for renowned clients including BMW, Feintool, IOTA Foundation, and Toyoda Gosei. My focus was on the development of an IoT application proof of concept, utilizing technologies such as Node.js, Docker, microservices, Kafka streaming, and Python. This involved processing approximately 800MB of time series metal processing force data and simulating a continuous data stream for real-time visualization. The application integrated with various AWS services through APIs and also featured an isolated integration with the Iota crypto payment service. I deployed the app on a bare metal server, leveraging Docker, GitLab, and Jenkins for the deployment process. The application was secured with Microsoft IAM, and served using NGINX. Let's Encrypt SSL certificates were used to ensure secure browsing on https://femiot.com.
